Welcome to my web-site. I'm a professional photographer living in Sittingbourne, Kent. Born in 1970, from the age of around 10 I have always had a keen interest in natural history and when introduced to a local well known naturalist and photographer called Ted Coleman his enthusiasm soon rubbed off on me and it wasn't long before I found myself photographing alongside him. There really is no better way of learning about nature than to be with a 'seasoned' naturalist. He taught me not only how to find and track animals but how best to photograph them. Above all he instilled in me an ethic that remains with me to this day, that no matter how hard you have worked in attempting to photograph a species, its safety and well-being must always come first.

After leaving school I attended Paddington College in London where I gained a BTECH National Diploma in Photography and for several years thereafter worked as a colour and b&w hand and machine printer.  At the age of 19 I gained my ARPS in the nature category and in 1992 decided to take the plunge and go freelance since I felt that I needed to devote more time to wildlife photography.  Photographing British wildlife is certainly my first love though over the years I have had a growing fascination with eastern Europe, which has resulted in a trip to Poland, 5 to Finland (3 as tour leader) and over 40 to the Czech Republic.

Annually I give approximately 35 illustrated talks to clubs and societies throughout England. My work is marketed by FLPA, Picturebank and Alamy and I regularly contribute to Outdoor Photography magazine.  Without 'blowing' my own trumpet I have twice been Highly Commended in the BG Wildlife Photographer of the year Competition and  awarded the RPS gold medal in their Annual International Slide Exhibition.
