Ruska - Revontulet: Autumn in Finnish Lapland

A monograph comprising of 70 high resolution images concluding with a detailed How to Photograph the Northern Lights section which include invaluable tips and advice acquired from innumerable hours of aurora photographic experiences.

There are few places in the Northern Hemisphere that match the stark transformation from summer through to autumn as visually as Lapland. From as early as late August the leaves of aspen and birch turn from green to gold and the northern bilberry sets the ground ablaze with its vibrant red leaves. A sparsely populated region and homeland of the indigenous Sámi people, Finnish Lapland is as close as it gets to experiencing wilderness in Europe. With its treeless fells, lakes and pine forests there is a magic that lies here. Finns speak of the "Lapland fever" because of the many that have lost their heart to this land.

The Backstory - Creative Close-Ups

Comprising of 15 high resolution images, this is an eBook with a difference. Through leading hundreds of workshops there are, in my experience, two things that most aspiring photographers want to know, which is - how and why did YOU take that photograph? I describe, in detail, the story behind each revealing both the technique and thought process that led up to it with the latter, I firmly believe, being the key ingredient in producing creative and memorable images.

Testimonials

'I thoroughly enjoyed reading the e book and seeing the stunning images. It's refreshing and very interesting to read the thought process behind the image. I can see the importance of planning, the framing of the subject and consideration of the lighting which all adds to the 'wow' factor. This, to me is as important as the technical aspect- arguably more so and it is generous of you to share that with us. Will there be a sequel?'

‘Often, I have wanted to know from the photographer on how the shot was constructed and the thought process behind the image, Robert delivers this perfectly in his new eBook. At a price that is not going to break the bank, all the information is supplied on how the shot was made, the camera settings and the backstory on how the image was discovered, literally. I shall be looking forward to the next one, if there is one!’
