In March 2010, I was approached by BBC1's The One Show to assist presenter, Jamie Crawford, in successfully photographing hares. Our first day was spent at Harlow Greyhound Racetrack, Essex, where I showed Jamie how to photograph the lure as it sped past. This was to get his "eye" in before the big day, the day after, where he would be photographing (hopefully!) the real thing. After filming, on the first day, I left to give a talk at Folkestone Camera Club some 85 miles away, after which I headed up to Royston, Cambridgeshire (115 miles), for a 3.30am start to find and photograph the hares. We awoke to dense fog and seeing them, let alone photographing them, was hopeless! We waited till it cleared and, after positioning Jamie, myself, sound recordist and cameraman against a hedge, we waited.....
