Over the last five years the Peak District has become one of my favourite locations for landscape photography. Indeed, as a result of those images I took on my first visit, I had an article published in Outdoor Photography magazine and have since held regular workshops to this region ever since.

Autumn, along with spring, has to be my favourite season. With leaves and ferns changing from green to gold, mists and mushrooms, it makes for an incredibly atmospheric and evocative time of the year with no shortage of subjects to shoot! This is a full-day workshop for a maximum of 5 persons ensuring lots of individual tuition and the pick of the best positions from which to photograph.

With autumn slowly drawing to a close this is the perfect opportunity to capture the transition from autumn to winter. I have long enjoyed this time where, for me, a more considered and contemplative approach is required. Woodlands no longer display the full gamut of autumn colour but instead have a darker, more sombre feel. Leaves just clinging to their branches, patterns created by those that have already fallen and, perhaps, even mushrooms are all subjects we will seek to photograph.

Designated the UKs first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Gower, in South Wales, is a dream location for any landscape photographer. During this 2-night workshop we will photograph sweeping, sandy beaches fringed with sand dunes and flanked by towering limestone cliffs.

Ever since I first picked up a camera some 30 years ago, close-up photography has fascinated me. To record the world around me that many would, idly, walk by and take very little notice of. It’s only when you get down and look closely that you can fully appreciate the breathtaking beauty of, say, a ladybird, the eye of a dragonfly or stamens of a delicate wood anemone.
