Camera Club Talks and Photography Presentations

I offer camera club talks and photography presentations on wildlife and landscape photography. Perfectly suited for photographic societies, trade shows, and conferences, each presentation lasts 60 - 90 minutes with time for Q&A, and can easily be tailored to suit your group’s needs.

As a confident and engaging (so I'm told!) camera club speaker with 35 years of public speaking experience - and more than 500 talks delivered - there's nothing I enjoy more than connecting with audiences of all sizes - from small camera clubs to packed conference halls. My wildlife and landscape photography presentations are designed to inspire and entertain, leaving attendees with practical tips, fresh ideas and creative insights they can use in their own photography.

New talk
Project to Print & Moments in Nature

Split into two halves, in the first, I’ll talk about how a 30‑year love‑affair with a local National Nature Reserve in Kent culminated in an 18‑month, design‑to‑print journey that became my coffee‑table book Elmley: First Light to Last. In the second, I’ll step away from Elmley and share Moments in Nature: a selection of my all‑time favourite images from across my wider photographic life, and the stories behind them.

Passions Projects: In Nature and the Landscape

From a walk on the beach to a year in a local woodland, projects - whether long or short - are a great means of focusing one's attention on a specific species, habitat or technique.

Land, Sea and Sky: From Vistas to Intimate

From the wild coastline of Ireland and moorland of Dartmoor to the cobbled lanes of Prague and meadows of Italy, in this talk, I look at planning a shoot, capturing vistas and the often overlooked, and the creative process behind making meaningful landscape photographs.

Nature in Miniature: Macro and Creative Close-Ups

From using extension tubes, flash and reflectors to fisheye and telephoto, be inspired to look more closely – and creatively – at the fascinating world that we so often pass by.

Testimonials

"That was an amazing presentation, which was so enjoyed by our members. I have always been inspired on every occasion you have spoken and admire your ongoing motivation and enthusiasm for photography. To continue to take the path of individuality and to swim against the tide of normality, to set a trend takes courage and a confidence that so many of us should aspire to."
Melanie. Dynamic Range Photography Group

"That was, without doubt, the best photography evening I have ever spent. To have a professional prepared not only to show images but also to talk about tools and techniques in detail was invaluable."
Peter. Natural History Group of the Horsham PS

"Nothing good comes easy, as they say, and you prove this time and time again with outstanding images which can only be achieved by making the sacrifices you do. Braving the elements, getting to locations before the crack of dawn, thorough research, and technical expertise are clearly fundamental requirements for any photographer wishing to get anywhere near close to what you produce."
Peter. Gravesend CC

“Just wanted to thank you again for coming to Reading and giving us such a truly delightful, inspiring and informative evening. The comments afterwards were all in the same vein, i.e. brilliant, fantastic, unbelievable, etc., etc. It was not only those wonderful images but your interesting and entertaining commentary as well. We shall all be watching your website now and hope that one of these days we may get to meet you again.”
Dorothy. Reading Camera Club

"Just a brief e-mail to congratulate you on your talk on Friday evening and to say how much Margaret and I enjoyed it. Over many years, I have heard quite a few professional photographers presenting on their areas of interest, but I don't think I can remember a presentation that I have enjoyed more. The overall plan was excellent to fill the evening slot, the mix of wildlife and landscapes delightful, and there were so many really lovely images to treasure. Well done!"
