As good as the Mini was, it just didn't have the resolution that the Pro offered. The difference was quite startling, for not only were there more MP to 'play' with but the edge-to-edge sharpness and low light capabilities were hugely improved.
Also with permission, I made the image, below, at dawn. of Leeds Castle. Whenever possible, I take at least two exposures in order to cover the dynamic range. The stability is superb with the lighter of the two captured at just 1/3 second.

I've been photographing Doddington Place Gardens for quite some time now, and as with the previous photos, obtained permission to enter their grounds before sunrise.
With a drone, you're able to capture intimate landscapes that would otherwise be impossible.
Doddington's a lovely part of Kent that I am incredibly fortunate to live, as the crow flies, just 15 minutes away from.
While working on a year-long commission near Edenbridge, Kent, I flew the drone at every opportunity recording the landscape and woodland canopy details. The winter of 2023/24 was so mild and 'uneventful' that very few images were made during that season so I'm hoping to return should we experience a hard frost or, better still, a dusting of snow.
The final photograph shows my beloved Elmley Nature Reserve. At first, I was reluctant to post this image given the work I am currently doing on producing a book on the estate, but I have many drone images that will, most likely, be chosen over this. To give the landscape context, aerial perspectives were, I felt essential for the book and I'm extremely pleased with those I have produced. I can't wait to show everyone the results of my 30-year love affair with this remarkable reserve!
