The easing of restrictions (and I'm certain I speak for many here) cannot come soon enough. Sure, they've been necessary but there are only so many routes one can take from home before they become somewhat repetitive, and then there's the almost unbearable frustration of looking outside the window, seeing dramatic lighting and being powerless to react! Come Monday, we wait with bated breath that the roadmap they've set out is still on course and we can, once again, get in our cars and travel further afield.
I'm keen to continue with my black and white film project on the North Kent Marshes. There's so much I want to cover and being able to drive to places will enable me to explore this region much more fully. The image below was taken earlier in the year and necessitated quite a long walk. The conditions more than made up for it, however.
I find it difficult working, simultaneously, in both colour and black white feeling the need to fully concentrate on or the other so I'm sure there'll be times when I want to just focus, purely, on the wildlife of the marsh, and there are few birds more full of character (especially at this time of the year) than redshank.
And then there are the wood anemones that will surely be carpeting our woodlands. A favourite of mine and a flower I never tire of photographing. The true harbingers of spring.
There's so much to look forward to. All we can hope for is that here in the UK, at least, infections continue to fall and that we can, once again, begin to slowly rebuild our lives.
