Additional info:

Couples sharing
For those sharing a double room, the total cost, per person, will be £1825.

Hide sharing
As there are no toilet facilities in the double hides, only same-sex or couple sharing is permitted. Therefore, if group composition requires that a male or female occupy a hide alone, an additional fee of £200 will apply. While I fully appreciate that this is through no fault of the individual, unfortunately, it is an unavoidable necessity.

Meals
A restaurant near our accommodation is expected to open by July 2026; however, this cannot be guaranteed at this stage. If it remains unavailable, the nearest alternative dining option is not within walking distance, and transfers may be necessary. In that case, an additional cost of approximately £35 per person may apply. Full details will be confirmed by autumn 2026.

Join me for an unforgettable Iberian lynx photography tour in southern Spain, one of the very best places in the world to see and photograph this rare and beautiful wild cat. Over several days, with morning and evening hide sessions, you’ll have the chance to capture Iberian lynx in golden-hour light from specially designed wildlife photography hides.

This small-group wildlife photography tour in Spain is perfect for both enthusiastic amateurs and experienced photographers. With expert guidance and exclusive hide access, sessions are timed to coincide with the lynx’s most active periods. Everything is designed to give you the best possible chance of creating striking images of one of Europe’s most elusive species.

KEEN TO BOOK AND SECURE YOUR PLACE NOW?
As some third-party suppliers cannot confirm prices this far in advance, the exact tour cost has yet to be finalised. However, I understand that many people like to plan and budget ahead - especially for a trip they’re excited about. I’ve therefore provided an approximate price based on 2025 costs, with a small allowance for expected increases. Final prices from all suppliers are anticipated in January 2027, at which point the exact cost will be confirmed.

I take pride in being fair and transparent with pricing. Many who attend my tours have returned on multiple occasions, and I see them more as friends than clients. Should the final price be lower than estimated, you’ll receive a refund for the difference. If it’s slightly higher, I’ll ensure it’s reasonable and clearly explained.

To secure your place, please proceed with the automated booking process.

Just shy of a metre in length and 45cm in height, the Iberian lynx is the world's most endangered feline species. However, through significant conservation efforts, Iberian lynx numbers have risen from just 100 individuals in the early 2000s to more than 1100 today - making Spain the only place where you can realistically join a wildlife photography tour to see and photograph Iberian lynx in the wild.

WHO IS THIS PHOTO TOUR FOR?

  • Wildlife enthusiasts and photographers keen to observe and photograph the Iberian lynx up close
  • Photographers looking to expand their wildlife portfolio with rare and unique images
  • Travellers seeking an authentic photography tour in Spain focused on nature photography

While Iberian lynx activity occurs year-round, I’ve chosen to run this photo tour in autumn to avoid Spain’s intense summer heat and the challenges of spending extended periods in hides. Autumn offers:

  • Comfortable temperatures for extended periods in hides
  • Gentle sunrise and sunset times offering softer, more flattering light and fresher vegetation, enhancing both the experience and photography.

At this time of year, there is also a strong chance of seeing young lynx visiting the pools, adding a rare opportunity to capture unique wildlife moments of these stunning cats.

Nature always brings surprises, but with eight hide sessions (morning and evening) in one of the best Iberian lynx locations, you have an excellent chance of returning home with some incredible images. I hope you can join me on this unforgettable adventure!

WHY CHOOSE THIS IBERIAN LYNX PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR?

  • Expert support: Briefings and critiques with suggestions on camera settings, composition, and wildlife photography techniques.
  • Exclusive hides: Purpose-built hides allow close yet ethical encounters with Iberian lynx, without disturbance.
  • Perfect timing: Tours run at the optimal season for lynx activity and light conditions.
  • Small groups: Limited numbers ensure personal attention, shared knowledge and an altogether better group dynamics.

DSLRs
All of my wildlife photography tours have a strict NO DSLR policy. With their clattering shutters, there's really no place for them any longer in this field. If you're not in a position to purchase one, then you may wish to consider hiring.

IBERIAN LYNX HIDE PHOTOGRAPHY
On some occasions you may be sharing a hide with just one other person; on others, depending on the lynx’s activity, the whole group may be together. The local guides will decide on the day, as they know the animal’s movements far better than we do.

There will be two hide sessions per day (3-5 hrs in the morning and evening), meaning that you will receive eight in total. A tripod is required, and you will be shooting through very high-quality one-way glass, which has rapidly become the norm for photographing shy and elusive species such as the Iberian lynx. The lynx hides are spread across a substantial area, and in order for everyone to receive equal opportunities and obtain different perspectives, the group will be rotated daily. The highly experienced local guides will decide which hides we use based on the lynx's activity.

There are no proper toilet facilities in the hides. Some have a screened‑off area, others don’t. If the whole group is in a large hide and someone needs to relieve themselves, we’ll do our best to make the situation as private as possible. Chaps will need to bring and use a pee‑bottle, and ladies may wish to use something like a wee‑she. It’s simply part of the experience - and by the end of the trip, we’re sure to know each other rather well!

Temperatures inside the hides are likely to be somewhere between 15 and 25 degrees, which, although warm, is considerably cooler than in summer when they often reach 40+, hence why this tour is held in autumn!

FINALLY
Thank you for considering this Iberian lynx photography tour. If you have any questions, big or small, please do reach out. I’m here to help and ensure you have an incredible experience!

Workshop info

Thank you for dropping by and considering attending a workshop. I love nothing more than to pass on to others the knowledge I have gained over the last 30 years as a professional photographer and 15 as a workshop and tour leader. My group sizes are always small ensuring a fun and friendly group dynamic, lots of 'personal space' in which to photograph without too much fear of others getting in your way and as much tuition as you would like or feel that you need. I hope you can join me!

Although under the 'umbrella' of Workshops, please note there is a difference between the three types that I offer. To avoid any confusion, please see below.

Workshops

Those taking place in the UK are classed as Workshops where learning is the primary aim, and in the case of those which are multi-day residential, very often include image critique and post-processing sessions.

Tours

Overseas trips are classed as Tours where the logistics are all taken care of and where the emphasis is on getting you to great locations at the best time of the day. Since these may include hide photography and working in cold, windy conditions where one-on-one tuition isn't practical, these are less hands-on. However, prior to the hide session or upon arriving at a location, I will give advice and suggestions on composition, lens selection and exposure.

Creative Visions

Creative Visions is a new concept that I have designed to specifically nurture your artistic growth. They can take place in either the UK or abroad combining both workshop and tour principles. There will be critique and post-processing tutorials and, most importantly, you will be encouraged to go beyond the record and representational and instead produce more intimate creative interpretations.
