Aside from writing Photo Insight articles for Amateur Photographer magazine I was asked if I would like to contribute to their regular My life in cameras feature. It made me look back and ponder those cameras I once owned and pick those which have had the biggest impact on my photography. Anybody that knows me will know that I am not the kind of person who buys camera equipment for the sake of it (look inside my camera bag and you will find a 25 year old 105mm Micro and equally old extension tubes) as I only purchase something where I can see it will make a significant contribution to my photography and although the 'bare bones' of cameras haven't changed a great deal in the last 10 years, their ability to shoot in extremely low light and improvements in AF and high ISOs does occasionally warrant an upgrade.
