Sunday 10th May 2026

Join me as I photograph the Kent countryside, capturing a stately home and its estate for use as a film location.

I’ve been photographing the grounds and leading photography workshops at Doddington Place Gardens for several years now. Nestled in the heart of Kent’s rolling countryside, it lies a mere 15 minutes away as the crow flies, and every visit feels both a pleasure and a real privilege. So I was especially delighted when its owner, Amicia, asked me to photograph the wider estate with a view to promoting it as a potential film location.

On a particularly grey and damp afternoon, I was driven around the estate by one of the team, Adam, who showed me the areas with the greatest potential. Fortunately, most were conveniently located close to the road, with parking nearby.

Two wonderful mornings were then spent photographing the estate in glorious, spring-like conditions.

The kit was simple, tried and tested: a Nikon Z7II paired with the 14–30mm and 24–200mm.
