Southwest Ireland: Dingle Peninsula & The Wilds of Killarney

"My second time with Rob on a trip to Dingle and the wild coast, but with the added adventure to Killarney, an area yet to be visited. As always, the weather plays a big part in this type of trip; it wouldn’t be called the Wild Atlantic Way if we expected calm seas and fine weather. It didn’t disappoint and is one of the reasons to go and experience conditions seldom experienced down in Kent. Great locations with easy to careful access, a few boulders to tackle, but nothing too problematic. Empty beaches, rough seas, some breaks in the dramatic skies for the sun to shine, plus rainbows aplenty.

Then a total contrast when we headed into Killarney, big mountains, lakes, forests and isolation, parts of the landscape reminded me of Norway, just beautiful, had hoped we would have had clear skies at night for a try at astro photography but the weather was not going to let us try, but the accommodation was perfect if the cloud cover had lifted. Great accommodation throughout the trip, the Dingle hotel was very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, great meals. The Killarney accommodation was a gem, thanks to Rob’s research, just perfect for exploring the area. 

As always, Rob's organisational skills were first-rate. I can highly recommend this tour to everyone".

Had not expected gourmet dining but the Guinness was compulsory! Our B&B hosts could not have been more accommodating to our nocturnal habits of vacating before sunrise and returning just in time for breakfast. I even had a complete change of clothes washed and dried for me when hit unexpectedly by a huge wave on a dawn shoot!! “Rob’s tour to SW Ireland in March will be remembered for a long time for many reasons; not only the small group, great accommodation, excellent food, the Guinness, exceptional weather, but Rob packed a lot into virtually five days and taking us to some stunning locations that you only dream about. “I would recommend Bob’s tours. I have done four workshops with Bob and enjoyed every one, coming back with lots of good images I would not have ordinarily got.
We all know what it is like to go on holiday only to be asked, "Why are you photographing that?" or, "Hurry up, I am hungry". Holidays are not ideal for photographers with spouses and kids.
The good thing about photographic workshops, apart from the cost, and Bobs are not expensive, is that they are designed by a photographer, for photographers. So the locations are already checked out, tide tables, sunset and sunrise times memorised so photographers do not have to do the research, Bob does it all. Attendees get the maximum out of the short break. Bob is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly guy, nothing is too much trouble for him. I thoroughly recommend his workshops, but you had better be quick, they fill up very quickly”!
