Whether PC or Mac, uploading and editing previously uploaded photos to Instagram has always been a rather convoluted affair. If you were simply adding a single image you would use the method I am about to explain but if you had multiples then you would first have to email them to yourself, save to your phone then upload via the mobile phone app. Also, the only means of having your photo displayed in aspect ratios other than 1:1 and 4:3 was to add borders. Enough to put you off, isn't it? I'm what you might call an irregular poster but it's nice to share the occasional photograph and eventually a nice community can be built. I use Facebook and Instagram for different reasons and sometimes the new kid on the block - Vero. Speaking of which, I wonder if Vero's ability to allow you to easily upload images from your computer has prompted Instagram to do the same? Still, Instagram's method is far from obvious since on their home page there is nothing to alert you to the uploading process. To upload and edit single and multiple images follow this method. I'm only speaking for PC users, here, though it's highly likely to be the same for Mac.
From anywhere on IGs home page, right click then click again on Inspect. You should see the coding on the right (as shown in the image below) and the home page on the left where at the bottom you will see a + sign. From here, you can upload single and multiple images of any aspect. Furthermore, you can now edit the caption in a previously uploaded photo by simply clicking on the appropriate image and then, again, on the three dots on the top right. Progress indeed!
