Some consider the snowdrop to be the "harbinger of spring". Personally, I don't as I feel they flower far too early to give you any hope of warmer months ahead. This title should be given to the wood anemone. Flowering in mid-March, there are few sights here in Kent more uplifting than tens of thousands of nodding white heads carpeting an ancient coppice or oak woodland.
