I'm leaving for the Yorkshire Dales tomorrow morning where, from Tuesday, I'll be running a 2-day landscape photography workshop. Based in the beautiful James Herriot region of Wensleydale, we will be covering much of the Dales (without compromising on time spent at photo locations), where we will photograph all manner of subjects and views from waterfalls and limestone pavements to barns, buttercup-rich meadows, stone walls and viaducts. Here's a selection of my personal favourites from years past.
View towards Swaledale at sunset and dusk. Early starts and late finishes of 4.30 and 9.30 are required for this workshop but being out in the English countryside during these quiet times more than makes up for the bleary eyes! Following breakfast, I factor in a few hours of downtime (sleep!) followed by laptop appraisal and Lightroom demonstrations which I consider to be an essential aspect of the learning process where advice on key points such as composition and exposure can be addressed early on. 
You can't possibly show a portfolio of Dales images without the inclusion of the famous cow houses/barns that is such a quintessential aspect of its countryside.
